What’s my Brother Printer’s IP Address?

This article details how to determine your Brother Printer’s IP address. There are two different methods, one for the QL-720NW and the QL-810W and another method for the QL-820NWB. Please follow the correct method for your model of printer.

QL-720NW and QL-810W

To find your Brother QL-720 NW or Brother QL-810W Printer’s IP address:

  1. Ensure the printer is switched On and paper is loaded.

  2. Press and hold the Cut button until the printer starts printing labels.

  3. The printer will print a number of labels (the amount will differ per model). One of the labels will contain the following:

    4. The IP address may be different to the one shown above – the one on your label is the IP address of the printer. If it reads 0.0.0.0, it means that the printer is not connected to the network – please follow the Connect the Brother Printer to a Wireless Network guide, or the Connecting the Brother Printer to a Cellular iPad’s Personal Hotspot guide to resolve the issue.

QL-820NWB

To find your Brother QL-820 NWB Printer’s IP address, follow the steps:

  1. Ensure the printer is switched On and paper is loaded

  2. Press the [Menu] and navigate to the WLAN tab (using the ▲/▼ arrows and the [OK] button)

  3. Press ▲ and select WLAN Status

  4. Select Infrastructure Mode

  5. The screen will display your network connection settings, your IP Address is listed on the third line.

  6. If it reads 0.0.0.0, it means that the printer is not connected to the network – please follow the Connecting the QL-820NWB Brother Printer without a computer guide. Alternatively, depending on your setup, follow the Connect the Brother Printer to a Wireless Network or Connecting the Brother Printer to a Cellular iPad’s Personal Hotspot guides for a more suitable process.
